The 2010 American Veterans Disabled for Life Silver Dollars were one of two commemorative coin programs offered by the United States Mint for the year. The coins were authorized under Public Law No: 110-277, first proposed as H.R. 634 The American Veterans Disabled for Life Commemorative Coin Act. The silver dollars are issued to honor the service of disabled veterans who survived the ordeals or war and made enormous personal sacrifices to defend the principles of democracy. The program authorizes the production of up to 350,000 face value 1 silver coins with a weight of 26.73 grams, diameter of 1.5 inches, and composition of 90% silver.
